Hey, I'm Asma

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a therapist, educator, and the founder of Trauma Gym — a space I created for people who are ready to start healing and build their emotional resilience. While healing emotional wounds is critical, building emotional resilience to navigate life's hardships is equally important. It's what helps us to overcome adversity so it doesn't become trauma in the first place. My wish is that you join our community and you find the tools you need to build that resilience and the therapy for the hidden wounds you carry.

How It All Started

It didn’t begin with a business plan — it started with a question:

How can we build emotional resilience to handle life's challenges, so that adversity doesn't become trauma?

I've worked with hundreds who navigated the ups and downs of life alone, with a dysregulated nervous system and internalized shame and guilt; if they had the tools, know-how and connections that comprise what we call "emotional resilience", they may have avoided some of the trauma that they now carry. Trauma Gym is here to bring you that emotional resilience, one emotional muscle at a time.  It's a gym for your mind, heart, and all the invisible parts that carry your story.

From My Practice to This Space

Trauma Gym was created as a natural extension of my work as a trauma-focussed psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and educator. Over the past decade in private practice and as Clinical Director at Eau Therapy, I’ve supported individuals facing complex trauma, intergenerational wounds, identity challenges, relationship difficulties, and emotional overwhelm. Again and again, I witnessed the need for something beyond the traditional therapy room — a space where people could continue building resilience, reconnect with themselves, and access trauma-informed guidance in an accessible, flexible way.
